Tenor
Bio:
Edmond Rodriguez is a Latino American Tenor based in Los Angeles, CA.
In 2020, Edmond became a rostered member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Since then, he has enjoyed an eclectic career in the Southern California music scene as a session singer, opera chorister, and as a soloist. Edmond’s voice can be heard on featured films such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Encanto, and Nope. He has sung as a back-up singer for Aloe Blacc, the Rolling Stones, and sang on Rosalia’s most recent album Motomami. Edmond’s first on-screen television credit occurred this past summer as an acapella singer for the show Grown-ish. He sings in the chorus of Los Angeles Opera.
As a soloist, Edmond was a Vocal Fellow for the Tanglewood Music Center in 2022. He was cast in George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence, performing the American premiere in a concert version of the opera conducted by the composer himself. Hailed for his “pure, guileless high range” (The Boston Globe), Edmond enjoyed exploring the arc of his role as the Young King, stepping into it with “frightening dignity” (The New York Times).
Recent highlights with the Los Angeles Master Chorale include the tenor solo in the fifth movement of Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil and the Prisoner’s Chorus tenor solo in Beethoven’s Fidelio, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Edmond received his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Southern California.
